Athletic are having a great season. They won the Copa del Rey, and they are currently 5th in La Liga. The head coach Ernesto Valverde deserves some praise for the job he’s done with the Basques. Granada are finding themselves in the relegation zone as they are 19th with just 17 points won. Being 11 points behind the 17th Celta Vigo, Granada are probably getting ready for another relegation to Segunda. That’s the reality for this small club – they are just not good enough at the moment.

Last week Granada at least recorded their third win for the season. Jose Ramon Sandoval’s team faced Deportivo Alaves at home and got the three points with a 2-0 win. Uzuni and Boye scored for the hosts.
